Cengkareng Raid Nets 14 Illegal Parking Attendants

Some 50 personnel cracked down on 14 illegal parking attendants across the Cengkareng Sub-district. Those attendants are set to receive rehabilitation and social guidance.

They have since been taken to the Kedoya Social Rehabilitation Center

West Jakarta Satpol PP Head, Herry Purnama, the operation—comprising joint personnel from Satpol PP, Social and Transportation sub-agencies, police, and army—was carried out in accordance with Bylaw No. 8/2007 on Public Order.

"Personnel patrolled multiple locations across various thoroughfares. This operation is intended to enhance order and ensure a sense of safety for the community," he expressed, Thursday (6/4).

He admitted that there have been recent complaints from the public regarding PPKS individuals acting as unauthorized traffic directors and demanding money by force.

"Their activities also endanger the safety of road users. Consequently, we are taking decisive action," he explained.

Cengkareng Sub-district Satpol PP Head, Sukarlan noted that personnel scoured several locations, including the Cendrawasih Intersection, Royal Palm Mutiara Hotel U-turn, and Kapuk Metro or Kamal junctions.

The patrol continued through the Kayu Besar U-turn, the front of Hotel Samala, Pakuwon Intersection, and ABC U-turn on Jalan Daan Mogot, reaching as far as the Uswatun Hasanah Mosque or Green Mansion U-turn.

"The operation resulted in the detention of 14 illegal parking attendants. They have since been taken to the Kedoya Social Rehabilitation Center to undergo data collection and further guidance," he stated firmly.
